2021 District of Columbia State Convention
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, in the interest of safety for our Brother Knights and their families, and in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Government of the District of Columbia, the DC State Convention will be held in a hybrid fashion for 2021.
The convention’s Business Meeting will begin at 9:00 AM ET on Saturday, April 24th with an opening Mass. State Officers, District Deputies, and invited guests will gather in the lower hall of the Church of the Nativity in Washington, DC with social distance measures in place. Delegates to the convention (Grand Knights and Past Grand Knights) will attend the convention virtually through a connection link that will be provided via email. If a delegate has a need to attend the convention in person, they must email the State Secretary at [email protected] to make arrangements.
The Saturday opening Mass will be live streamed on the DC Knights Facebook page. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to those at Nativity. Winners of State Program Awards will be announced at the end of the business session and will be invited to the Mass on Sunday to receive their award.
Each council in the jurisdiction is entitled to two (2) voting representatives at the State Convention. These positions are filled by the Grand Knight and a Past Grand Knight of each council, an alternate for each of those positions are elected by the local councils in the event that the GK or PGK cannot fulfill their duties to attend the convention.
Council credential forms have been distributed via email and should have been returned to the State Secretary by April 16th, 2021 to identify these members and provide contact information.
